On-site training - Venous Duplex for Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) and Endovenous Ablation

Venous Duplex for Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) and Endovenous Ablation
Inside Ultrasound, Inc can provide on-site training in noninvasive venous duplex imaging for chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) and venous duplex imaging for endovenous ablation. Class location and size can be customized to meet your needs.

Course Description
This course is designed for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge of testing patients for the presence of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). The course will include hands on venous duplex for pre-op mapping for CVI to determine which patients would benefit from various types of venous ablation, reporting and the role of ultrasound during venous ablation. Ultrasound post-ablation: and what the physician and Sonographer will need to be aware of following treatment will be reviewed in detail. The course will include: basic fundamentals of ultrasound (equipment settings, transducer frequencies, the role of color and Doppler, etc.), physical exam and pertinent patient history, venous anatomy and pathophysiology, assessment of the deep veins of the lower extremity, ultrasound criteria for CVI in the superficial veins, mapping of the superficial system prior to ablation and what the Sonographer needs to report for optimal treatment (vein size, aneurysmal segments, large branches, etc.), how ultrasound is utilized during treatment of the superficial veins and what to expect when scanning post ablation, various exam protocols and worksheets to document the presence of disease, scanning for and the criteria for incompetent perforators, and the role of ultrasound during the treatment of perforators. Didactic and hands-on scanning both days.

Normal course length: 2 days
Normal class size: 1 to 4 participants
15 hours of CME are available from the Society of Vascular Ultrasound

Course Materials
A master copy of the course material is included in the fees, or we will ship pre-assembled binders for a nominal cost per item. If you choose to receive the master copy of the course material, we ask that copies be made and put in binders, one per student.

Continuing Education
Continuing education credits from the Society of Vascular Technology can be provided for all persons completing the course for a single fee.
